In the great classics of the traditional ink painting, the 4 major subjects are studied. They are the foundation of any serious apprenticeship : bamboos, orchids, prunus, chrysanthemums.
These 4 themes permit to acquire the multiple fundamental techniques of the ink and the brush and are called the gentlemen.
In our institute, we teach 5 levels of dexterity for each of these themes.
